Tres-Or Welcomes 2010 with a Gold Nugget
Welcome to 2010! It’s been just over a month since the last post to the Tres-Or blog. Tres-Or is happy to be back spreading the good word after some time away from the blog. This first post of 2010 will be an update on recent press releases that were put out recently regarding Tony Chan, new Quebec properties and the increase of in revenue share of the Agudee Gold Project in Ghana. As well, there are some exciting photos posted at the bottom of the post.
First off, Tres-Or would like to welcome Tony Chan to the Board of Directors. Tony brings a wealth knowledge and financial experience to the team. As a two time member of the Vancouver Stock Exchange Board of Governers and former Chairman of the Membership Committee, a founding director in Capstone Mining, and former director Silverstone Resources, he marries an understanding of capital markets and the challenges faced by mining companies. At Tres-Or, we hope to leverage his abilities to drive value to shareholders. Please read more about him on our directors page.
Late in December, Tres-Or acquired the rights to an interesting precious metals property in Quebec. In short, Tres-Or can earn up to 76% interest in the property by completing some ground work over the next 24 months. Details of the press release can be found here.
Also in late December, Tres-Or negotiated a higher revenue share of the proceeds generated at its marquee Agudee Project in the Ashanti region of Ghana. The percentage to be earned by Tres-Or moves up from 37.5% to 42.5%. Tres-Or remains very excited by the project and continues to work feverishly to push the alluvial gold project into steady-state.
Since the last post, the plant and gold room have been running with some gold being recovered. All relevant parties involved felt that current plant needed to be reworked to allow for better gold recoveries. Better gravel throughput is required, while sluices and screens runs need to be optimized to achieve optimal recovery rates. While the iterative work on the project is long and tedious, Tres-Or is becoming increasingly comfortable with the viability of the project and property. Tres-Or feels it will be a large value driver for the company. Earlier this week, during a plant optimization run, Bruce Luckman, site manager found a 3 gram nugget (pictured next to coin below) and has commented that the quality and size of the gold coming out of the project is exceeding recent expectations.
